In October 2011 Story Moves facilitated a Research and Development project exploring the possibility of creating an Inclusive Theatre Company in Derby. With Arts Council England (Igniting Ambition – Creative Innovation) and Derby City Small Arts grant funding, a 2-day project with young adults with moderate learning difficulties took place at Deda. The work was inspire by a Derby Art Gallery exhibition ‘Can You Hear Me Now?’ with artists Anna Mawby and Stephen Carly, about emotions.

A further successful Arts Council Funding bid, with additional support from Derby City, has allowed the company to develop. Artists for the initial project are in place and rehearsals begin in August at Deda and Wetherby Day Centre who are offering some key additional input to the project!
