Presented by Hubbub Theatre Company, this event will premiere a new dance film, Journeys, which celebrates the artistic development of one of the company’s lead dance artists, Bethany Smith.
Bethany developed Journey’s choreography as part of her mentoring programme with East Midlands Dance Network, sharing her journey as an Autistic dance artist. The dance film was created on residency at LEVEL Derbyshire, in collaboration with Sophie Thorpe and Adam Robertson.
Bethany has curated the evening herself, and the event will be a joyful and powerful celebration of dance, movement, creative growth & leadership. There will be live performances, a chance to ask Bethany questions about her journey.
This evening forms part of a wider project funded by Arts Council England, supporting professional dance and movement artists to develop inclusive practice. There will be an announcement of further training and development opportunities at this event.
