Co-Choreography Day with Hubbub Artistic Director Jen Sumner & Co-Director Bethany Smith – Dance Practice Programme CPD

Open to artists, teachers or practitioners who use movement, dance and theatre
This day will explore how movement and choreography can be co-created in a way that includes everyone in the space, holding wellbeing, equity and kindness at the heart. Immerse yourself in the ‘Hubbub Way’, genuinely created by everyone, as the movement emerges from the democratic, inclusive process. This day will be offering a range of approaches to movement and dance creation. No dance experience is needed and everybody is welcome in the space. Jen Sumner has over 30 years’ experience of co-creating through movement led processes with people of all ages and abilities; supported by the Hubbub Dance team Bethany Smith, Emily Deacon and the Hubbub Dance Collective to offer a truly inclusive experience for everyone who attends.
Hubbub Theatre’s new Dance Development Project aims to celebrate and develop diverse leadership and to support professional dance and movement artists in developing their inclusive practice. Suitable for movement, dance, artist professionals, practioners, students or teachers, Dance Practice Programme is a series of monthly CPD training sessions supported by funding from Arts Council England, taking place at Hubbub’s venue, Chapel Street Arts in Derby.
Co-Choreography Day with Jen Sumner & Bethany Smith (Dance Practice Programme) takes place on 2nd July, from 10am to 4pm (registration from 9:30am) and costs £50 per person, with concessions available.
