Usha Mahenthiralingam presents a session called ‘Body as Home, Body as Compass’ which explores movement, embodiment and Creative Wellbeing. In this experiential workshop, interdisciplinary artist and somatic movement practitioner Usha offers a hands-on exploration of how simple movement patterns can support our structural awareness, regulate nervous systems and nourish our capacity to learn, create, and connect. Drawing on her practice in somatics, developmental movement and work as a creative mentor with children and communities in primary health and education; Usha includes movement, creativity and a light touch of neuroscience in an accessible, inclusive session designed for creatives, therapists, educators, health, social care professionals and anyone interested in this field of study. Usha Mahenthiralingam ‘Body as Home, Body as Compass’ takes place on 15th September from 10am to 4:30pm. The full day session is £50 per person, with concessions available.
Kim Boormann presents ‘Five Body Elements of CircularDynamics’ featuring Kim’s unique methodology for exploring spaces: ‘CircularDynamics,’ Informed by Taoist practice and somatic awareness, this inclusive practice allows participants to access and be present in the moment, providing a toolkit to explore space, body and objectsthrough movement, and using features of the room itself. There will be time for reflection of how to nurture individual movement practice, and participants are invited to bring along a personal object to explore within the session. Kim Bormann is a Chinese-German heritage dance artist, facilitator and performer who combines somatic relevance and choreographic composition through exploring objects and settings, blurring the lines of workshop and performance. Kim Bormann ‘Five Body Elements of CircularDynamics’ takes place on 20th October, from 10am to 4pm. The full day session is £50 per person, with concessions available.
