Hooray! We were successful in gaining Arts Council funding to support the creation of our first indoor piece of theatre to be debuted at Deda, Derby on November 14th 2014.

The show is called ‘Kessoku’ meaning ‘unity’ which reflects the way that we work – embracing and celebrating our differences and valuing each individual as a vital part of the whole company. The show is inspired by 3 Japanese stories and will be full of music, movement, puppets, shadow projections and loads of fun! Suitable for all the family and audience members with moderate learning disabilities…

We will work with our favourite composer and musician, Matt Marks, and our best physical theatre/circus director Cat Boot 🙂 We will be joined also by Mark Hornsey from Babbling Vagabonds who will lead us into the wonderful world of shadow projection and puppetry! Nikki Disney is our drama facilitator and pastoral care co-ordinator with support from Steph Dunn and Maddy More, our brilliant volunteers. Jen Sumner is once again at the helm with her directing hat on.

Our performers are still Amy, Laura and Holly with our wonderful new members Jenny and Dan. We will be holding an informal and relaxed audition workshop in June to find a few more talented young learning disabled performers, musicians, artists and also people who would like to help us front of house or backstage. Watch out for details coming soon…
